The
weaving hall is 800sq m and over 100 artisans work full time
there. There are usually one or two weavers who work together
on a loom, and it takes about six months to one year to weave
a carpet. The Pardakht is process in which the master defines
the cutting of the length of the weft after weaving. “Shoor”
is washing the carpet in a specific manner.
It
illuminates the colors and washes the weaving dust off the carpets.
Some times the carpets are displayed on decorated frames, which
are selected by the artist, or the buyer. The woven carpets
are distributed on a contractual basis to a domestic wholesaler
in the other provinces, or shipped directly to private collectors
and international markets. The carpets can be ordered with,
or without frames.
